Black Birds is the original that started it all — Velma Lewis's very first oil painting, created after a moment that stopped time. In San Felipe, Mexico, along the shimmering edge of the Sea of Cortez, black birds filled the sky in every direction. Their movement, their freedom, their effortless belonging to that wild coastal air — it had to be captured.

This piece carries the salt, the light, and the living energy of that day. Owning Black Birds means owning a piece of where Terrane in Color began.
